Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of MyLoci ("the App"), developed and operated by Jack Dixon ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using MyLoci, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time — continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
License to Use MyLoci
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use MyLoci for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without written permission
- Rent, lease, or lend the App to third parties
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
Your Inventory Data
You retain full ownership of all inventory data, photos, and content you create in MyLoci. We do not claim any ownership over your data.
Your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your inventory data. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data.
By using the AI identification feature, you grant us a limited license to process your photos solely for the purpose of identifying items — photos are not stored on our servers beyond the time needed to process the request.
Pro Subscription
MyLoci offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks AI-powered item identification using Claude AI from Anthropic. Subscription terms:
- Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through your Apple ID
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
- Free tier features remain available regardless of subscription status
- We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable notice
All billing is handled by Apple — we do not store your payment information.
AI Identification Feature
The AI camera feature uses Claude AI from Anthropic to identify household items from photos. By using this feature you acknowledge:
- AI identification results are suggestions only — accuracy is not guaranteed
- Photos are sent to Anthropic's servers for processing via our secure proxy
- Anthropic's terms of service apply to AI processing — see anthropic.com/legal
- The AI feature requires an internet connection
- We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue AI features at any time
- Monthly scan limits apply to Pro subscriptions as described in the App
No Warranties
MyLoci is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- AI identification results will be accurate or complete
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- Data will never be lost — maintain your own backups
Estimated values provided by AI are for informational purposes only and should not be used for insurance, legal, or financial decisions without independent verification.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jack Dixon shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use MyLoci.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10.00, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability — in such cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Your Responsibilities
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jack Dixon from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third party's rights.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use MyLoci to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or servers
- Transmit any malicious code or interfere with the App's operation
- Use the AI feature to process images of illegal content
- Circumvent any usage limits or subscription restrictions
- Resell or commercialize access to the AI features
Termination of Access
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to MyLoci's services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may stop using the App at any time. Deleting the App terminates your license. Subscription cancellation must be done through your Apple ID settings.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of MyLoci shall be resolved in the courts of Collin County, Texas.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Apple App Store Terms
MyLoci is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall govern with respect to App Store matters.
Apple is not responsible for MyLoci or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for MyLoci. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
